I have fwupd/gnome-firmware installed on my laptop and upon logging in, it informed that there were UEFI/Fimrware updates available for my Lenovo laptop, which I was able to apply directly from within Linux thanks to LVFS (https://fwupd.org).
The experience is so much smoother than upgrading firmware from Windows, and more importantly, it means that I don't have a reason to keep a bootable Windows partition anymore.
I can now reclaim this useless 60GB parition!
Bye bye, Windows.
